Sandia National Laboratories
Agile SME
Albuquerque, NM
I am currently an Agile SME in the Corporate PMO (Project Management Office) at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM as well as the co-lead of the Agile Community of Practice and PMO Agile Working Group. In the PMO I conduct training, coach individuals and teams, sponsor Agile conferences at Sandia, and provide guidance to the Agile community via the Sandia Agile Handbook, Agilist competencies and training, and the Agile CoP corporate website.

I have been practicing Agile for over ten years. Before concentrating on Agile, I was a scientific software developer for over 20 years. Before joining the PMO I was the Release Train Engineer for 3 years on a large satellite ground system project that used SAFe, the Scaled Agile Framework. I am a SAFe SPC4, CSM and CSPO, and have a Ph.D. and BS in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a MS in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University.

From the very beginning of my Agile journey in 2008, I have worked in multiple team rooms and subsequently worked with many teams to design and construct Agile team rooms, with budgets ranging from $5,000 to over $1M.
